VTGemini is a universal iOS software application (app) running on iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini, and iPod Touch. It is developed to provide guidance and preparedness information to the Virginia Tech Blacksburg campus community before, during, and after an emergency caused by a natural disaster (e.g., earthquake, flooding, hurricane, tornado, winter storm) or a man-made disaster (e.g., active shooter, bomb threat, chemical spill, explosion, hostile intruder).

VTGemini provides emergency know-how guides, hazard-specific guides, and general preparedness information to educate the public before, during, and after an emergency. It provides the locations of the nearest emergency callboxes on the main campus. VTGemini lists all Virginia Tech buildings and facilities on campus and provides graphical and turn-by-turn walking and driving directions from the user’s current location to the selected building or facility. It also enables the user to send email messages to Virginia Tech Office of Emergency Management.
